In order for a business to be successful, it needs to truly know its customers and the community in which they live. This can’t be done behind a desk. The Coachella Valley is composed of ten cities, Palm Springs, Cathedral City, Indian Wells, Rancho Mirage, La Quinta, Desert Hot Springs, Indio, Bermuda Dunes, Palm Desert and Coachella. Each has its own culture, activities and events. Each is different in terms of its size and economic and social health. In order to measure the health of each of these cities, one must get out into the community and participate and/or observe its people.
The Amidei Romano Group of Merrill Lynch has offered knowledgeable financial advice and wealth management services combined for more than 40 years to businesses and individuals of the Coachella Valley. Pictured are (left to right)(back row) Brian Amidei, Paul Anderson, Joseph Romano III, (middle row) Augustino Suafoa, Jennifer Pyle, Brett D’Orlando, (first row) Veronica Sickenberger, Tamara Spates and Lisa Kazandjian.
They value what Martha's Village & Kitchen does for the people of the Coachella Valley. By helping the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless to become self-sufficient, the community as a whole can stay strong and businesses can thrive. So, in order for the community to be successful, Martha's Village & Kitchen must be successful.
The Amidei Romano Group supports Martha's Village & Kitchen in several major ways. First, in order to make sure the organization is managed well, Brian Amidei serves as a member and officer of the Board of Directors and Chair of the Audit Committee. He attends monthly Board meetings, participates in policy discussions and gives advice about how to invest wisely.
Next, the group supports the fundraising efforts of Martha’s Village. Each year for the last seven years, the group has sponsored the annual Polo Tournament at the Eldorado Polo Club in Indio. They host a luncheon table, contribute and buy auction items, get to know community neighbors, watch the tournament and have fun. They also hosted 2 drop off locations for Martha’s Village’s back-to-school backpack drive. Backpacks and school supplies were donated to make sure students in the Valley were well prepared to start their first day back in school.
In 2007, Martha’s Village considered scheduling a 5K Run/Walk on Thanksgiving Day. As a Board Member, Brian Amidei was a part of the decision-making process and, considering the success of Father Joe’s Thanksgiving Day 5K in San Diego, was all for it. His group was happy to become a sponsor, participate in the event which was held that year in La Quinta and has done so every year since. They know they need to stay healthy for themselves and for their clients.
Being a big part of these events shows that they also care about the health of their community. It has become a practice that they continue to feel good about and look forward to each year.
Businesses small and large can sponsor and participate in Martha’s Village’s Thanksgiving Day 5K.
